CALIFORNIA AUCTIONEERS, HISTORIC FIREARMS, JANUARY 29TH
 | George “Machine Gun” Kelly's chrome shotgun left behind at Ora Shannon's Wise country, Texas ranch (where Kelly held millionaire Charles Urschel) is up for auction at California Auctioneers in Ventura. Also included in the auction is the Benny Binion collection of gamblers guns, from the vault at the Horseshoe, "confiscated from unruly gangsters, gamblers and patrons." Also being offered is an important personal collection of pistols from pin stripe legend Von Dutch; well-known for being the king of custom culture, he was also a gunsmith. FIVE RIVERS, FIREARMS AUCTION, JANUARY 28TH
 | This Colt 1851 Navy Model revolver will be on the auction block at Five Rivers's next sale. This Colt revolver is accompanied by a history of ownership purporting that it was captured from Union forces by Confederates and carried by a descendent of Patrick Henry, Patrick Henry Fontaine, who died in 1915. Other handguns include a Bisley Single Action Army revolver; a 1915 Luger pistol with all matching numbers; and a Smith & Wesson 1st model Single Action top-break spur-trigger revolver. Long guns include a boxed Colt-Winchester commemorative set; an antique Rigby 450 Express double rifle; and a Sharps new Model 1863 percussion carbine.  | This Winchester Model 1894 lever action fancy take down sporting rifle is one of 638 fine lots in Alderfer's upcoming firearms sale. Featuring a 26" octagon barrel with blued finish, original front and rear sights, fancy checkered walnut stock and forend,and a crescent metal butt plate, it is estimated to bring $2,000-3,500. Other lots include a Ljutic Dyna-Trap single barrel shotgun; a Neumann Bros. side by side double barrel shotgun with outside hammers; a Winchester third model 1873 lever action rifle; a Colt Frontier Six Shooter Bisley Model single action revolver; and a Remington Model 32 TC over/under double barrel shotgun. In addition to guns, there will also be a Winooski Mad River canoe; a Walden Scout kayak; ammunition, books, gun cases, edged weapons, a large quantity of clay birds, and other related accessories.
